The Joy of no money

I havent been able to post sooner because Im broke.  Turns out that happens if you arent working.   I have been putting so much time and engry into opening this salon that I havent been working very much.  It finally caught up to me.   Maybe its time I put this dream on hold???

mutiny and the 16 hour work day.

I have two business partners left. M, the Massage Therapist, and S the Hair Stylist.    This is important information for the events of today.  On occasion we work with a photographer from St. George, Utah.   His name is John (seeing as thats a common name we will not shorten it)  today was one of those occasions.

John managed to act about as unprofessional as humanly possible.  He barked orders at my two apprentices, insulted S, and actually fired one of her apprentices.  Needless to say everyone was angry.  Then S had enough.  She threw away her comb and stormed out, taking her remaining apprentice and both of mine.   Suddenly I was left completely alone. I have given myself a two hour comfort zone before my next appointment, and needless to say, I didnt make it.   Everything ended up getting push completely back.  And I ended up spending the next few hours running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  

I am so tired, and sore.

Last month I ran a discount on gel toe parties, and many of you took advantage of it.  Because of the popularity I have decided to continue the deal.  If you live in Iron county, gel toe parties are going to be $15 per person.
If you live in the st George area its $20.  Please remember you must have at least five people for this discount.

Wow.

So as many of you know, I am attempting to open a salon.   My friend and I were planning on opening it and owning it together.  However she has decided now that she no longer wants to open the salon.  She now wants to open a bakery.  Yeah, a bakery. 

I have been doing business plans, mission statements, found the place we want to open it, hell I have even found employees.   Now she has backed out.   I dont even know what to do.  I am very confused.

I need help.

This past Saturday I met with a friend of mine for lunch.  After which I had several appointments.  My last and by far most enjoyable was with a referral.  I dont get very many of these however when they do happen I enjoy it.  The women was so much fun.  We discussed life, children and other personal things.  It has always been easy for me to make my clients feel conformable and, either in my home or theirs I feel honored to service them.  

Sickness

I got puked on today.  Yes very true. 
 It turns out only considerate people dont bring their ill child to a nail salon.  Go figure.   What is wrong with people really?  It isnt like I dont already worry about catching germs all day!

I am working on my business plan right now.  I never realized how hard a mission statement could be.  Traumatizing as well.

Second post!

Now that we have the who, what, where and when done let me tell you about my day.
(I am currently working at a salon in town until I can open up my own.)

Get to work.

Dusting.
2.00-4 Pm
Acrylic backfill.   Now a backfill never, ever, ever takes me this long, however this was no ordinary back fill. This was a case of a brand new, complete set on one whole hand. 

I really need to start advertising.

So after my day of complete nothing I start to work on my business plan.   Do any of you have any idea what a business plan is or takes?  We I didnt either until latly.  A buisness plan will be the death of me.  Just wait!!

Later when I get it done I will give y'all some tips on the best way to go about it.
